| Goku flies to Kame House to get
training from Muten Roshi. Roshi says first he
must bring him back a nice girl, so Goku goes off
to look for one. First he brings back a woman who
is not very nice at all, and then he finds a
mermaid. Then a little monk named Krillin also
arrives on the island looking for training. He is
about Goku's age but a little shorter. He bribes
Roshi into taking him on as well with a pile of
porn magazines. Roshi lets them both go and
complete Goku's task, and they manage to retreive
a girl called Lunch, who is very nice but has a
split personality when she sneezes. This is good
enough for Muten Roshi, and Lunch stays on the
island as his maid. They begin
training by racing and seeing how fast they are.
Then they have to find a stone Muten Roshi throws
into a jungle, and the one who brings it back
will get to eat lunch. Goku manages to find it,
but Krillin steals it from him. However, the next
day, Krillin, Roshi and Lunch become sick from
eating poisonous blowfish. As the training
continues, Krillin and Goku are made to wear
heavy shells on their backs to make them work
harder. They want to be as strong as possible to
take part in a martial arts tournament called the
Tenkaichi Budokai.
The
21 Tenkaichi Budokai takes place months after
their training began. They sign up and find out
Yamcha has also signed up and Bulma, Oolong and
Puar are there to watch, among a huge crowd
outside. The tournament starts, and Yamcha, Goku
and Krillin manage to beat everyone in their
groups. They are moved to the next round. Krillin
steps up to fight against Bacterium, whose main
weapon is to distract people by his revolting
smells. Krillin starts to lose but then Goku
shouts to him from the side reminding him he
doesn't have a nose. Krillin is able to win the
fight. Next, Yamcha is defeated by a mysterious
fighter named Jackie Chun, who he suspects is
Muten Roshi. Namu wins the next fight, and the
last fight of this round is Goku VS a dinosaur
called Giran. He manages to beat him and his tail
grows back half way through the fight. Goku,
Krillin, Jackie Chun, and Namu are through to the
next round. During the third round, Jackie Chun
beats Krillin, and Goku beats Namu.
After
the fight, Jackie Chun finds Namu, and finds out
he wanted to win the money because his village
was suffering from a draught. Jackie Chun tells
him that he will give him a capsule to store
water in if he does him a favour by dressing as
Muten Roshi and standing in the crowd so that
Yamcha would no longer suspect his real identity.
He then returns to find Yamcha telling Goku and
Krillin that he thinks Chun is actually Roshi.
Goku had denied this by saying Roshi didn't smell
of oranges. Yamcha then sees 'Roshi' in the crowd
and stops being so suspicious.
The
final fight is about to take place between Chun
and Goku. Chun tries to beat Goku in many ways,
but Goku to dodges them all in some way. He even
tries to sing him to sleep with a 'Min Min Ken'
(Nighty Night Baby Attack), but Goku wakes up
when Bulma shouts that it's time for dinner. Chun
resorts to a final move where he traps Goku in a
'Bankoku-hikkuri-shou' electric beam. The only
way he will stop is for Goku to surrender, but
just as he is saying the words, he sees a full
moon and turns into an Oozaru. The fight had gone
on so long it was now night. Goku breaks free of
the Bankoku-hikkuri-shou and starts smashing
everything. Chun realizes that if he goes out of
bounds he will lose, so he powers up a huge
Kamehameha. The rest of the DB gang look
horrified, but instead of firing it at Goku, Chun
fires the Kamehameha into the sky, blasting away
the moon!
When
they realize Goku is not dead, just naked,
Krillin lends him some clothes and the match
continues. Chun is low on strength, so Goku uses
a Kamehameha and almost knocks Chun out of
bounds. However, Chun hadn't yet touched the
ground as he had put his foot into the side of
the fighting platfom and climbs back up. They
decide to finish the fight without any special
moves, and each jump up into the air and fly at
each other. They hit at the same time and it is a
double KO. The Budokai announcer says that in
this rare event, the winner is the first person
who can stand up and smile while saying 'I did SO
win'. The sun begins to rise.
Everyone
in the audience cheers on Goku and Chun. Goku
gets up first, but faints in the final syllable.
Chun then stands up and says the words that
proclaim him the winner. The crowd erupts, and
Chun walks away with the prize money. Goku can't
beleive he lost but doesn't really mind. Jackie
Chun changes back into Muten Roshi behind some
bushes and meets the others saying he will treat
everyone to lunch because Goku and Krillin fought
so well. He tells them that they must realize
that no matter how strong they are there will
always be someone stronger. The boys agree and
Roshi wonders if he would have got the same
result by just telling them. They go to a
restaurant and Goku eats all day leaving the
reataurant eith no food left. Roshi pays and uses
up almost all of the prize money on the meal.
They
start to go home and Goku says that he will go
off to look for his 4 star Dragon Ball. Krillin
wants to go too but he can't ride Kintoun. Bulma
gives him her radar and everyone says goodbye as
Goku flies away.
